University Consortium of Seinäjoki

Are you a student at the University Center Seinäjoki (UCS)? Welcome to the library! We also provide library services for UCS students. The library's collections and services are designed to meet the needs of students, teachers, and researchers. You may use library's printed books and journals, but there are restrictions on other services. For more information on how to use the library and its services, please refer to the guide below.

SEAMK Library is located in Kampustalo

In the cosy Tapio-sali, you can study alone or together, read a magazine or borrow a laptop. The library also has some quieter reading areas and study spaces.

Search, renew, request at SEAMK-Finna

On SEAMK-Finna, library’s search service, you can search for printed and electronic books, journals, and articles, as well as theses, web publications, and e-resources. SEAMK-Finna’s video tutorials guide you in using the service.

You can order a single-use login link to your email address. The address has to be the same which you have notified the library. Logging in with Finna ID is an alternative for the single-use login with your email. If you choose to create a Finna ID, you can log in with it in the future.

On SEAMK-Finna, you can request both books on loan and on shelf. Requests are free of charge. You will receive a notification via email when you can come and pick up the book from the library. On SEAMK-Finna, you can also change the PIN code which you need for checking out books at the machines.

RESTRICTIONS IN USING E-RESOURCES

You should primarily use the electronic resources of your own university. University libraries offer a wider range of e-resources than SEAMK Library. Log in to remote access with your own university ID.

In addition, you can use the open online resources available in the SEAMK Library collections. SEAMK-Finna provides access to Finnish repositories and other open access publications. See the e-library for open access databases.

The use of electronic materials acquired through license agreements is only possible for SEAMK students and staff. They can use their SEAMK credentials to log in via Haka.
