New map feature in Keenious

At the top of the Keenious search results list there will now be a map plotting the search results, showing how they relate to one another. Each article is represented by a dot, characterised by:

• Color – the results will be grouped by which Research Area they most align with, denoted by a certain color.
• Size – represents the number of times the article has been cited by others in the OpenAlex dataset. The more times a result has been cited by others the larger the dot.
• Brightness – shows how relevant the result is to your search. The more relevant the result is to your search the darker/more saturated the color.

A user can interact with the dots in the map and click on them to view the full details. The first time someone uses the feature a short explanation will appear. Users can also hide the map if they wish.

What Keenious?

Keenious plus is an AI-based information seeking tool that allows users to search for article recommendations in natural language by asking questions or giving instructions. You can also search for similar articles based on keyword, input text, or PDF file. The AI analyses the input and responds with a list of relevant articles.
