Changes in opening hours in summer 2026
SEAMK Library’s summer hours began in early May. Please note that
- The library will be closed from June 19 to August 2, 2026.
- The unstaffed library will be unavailable from June 26 to July 26, 2026.
- The EXAM facilities are closed from June 18th to August 4th, 2026.
- Starting from August 3rd, the library is open Mon–Fri 9 am – 4 pm.
Opening hours 4.5.–18.6.2026
- library is open Mon–Fri 9 am – 4 pm. Execption: on Thursday June 18, library is open 9 am – 3 pm.
- library is open for self-service between 9 and 10 am in the morning. Customer service opens at 10 am.
- SEAMK students and staff can use the library independently with their SEAMK access keys every day until 9 pm. Instructions for using the unstaffed library(Opens in a new window)
Library closed 19.6.–2.8.2026
- 19.6.–25.6. SEAMK students and staff can access the library with SEAMK access rights 9 am – 9 pm.
- on Friday 26.6. SEAMK students and staff can access the library with their access rights. NB! The access will be blocked some time during the afternoon.
- 26.6.–26.7. library and Kampustalo (Campus House) ar closed. No access to the unstaffed library.
- 27.7.–2.8. SEAMK students and staff can access the library with SEAMK access rights 9 am – 9 pm. NB! The access will be reopened on Monday, July 27, some time during the morning.
- starting from 3.8.2025 the library is open 9 am – 4 pm. SEAMK students and staff can access the library with SEAMK access rights 9 am – 9 pm.
Longer loan periods because of the closure
Because the library is closed for a longer time, we are giving longer loan periods for books until Aug 12, 2026.
- The loan period for 4-week loans will be extended starting May 21
- The loan period for 2-week loans (textbooks) will be extended starting June 4
Please check the due dates of your loans and don’t forget to renew your loans before the library closes to get longer loan periods for your loans. There are no due dates during the time library is closed. SEAMK staff’s loans will be automatically renewed by the system unless there are no requests on them.
Returns
- During 19.–26.6. when the library is closed, but the C0 door to Kampustalo is open, you can check-in books to the self-checkin shelf during 7:30am–4:00pm. SEAMK students and staff can access the library with SEAMK access rights 9 am – 9 pm. NB! Access will be closed during the afternoon on Friday June 26.
- Please note, that Kampustalo is closed 26.6–26.7. During the time Kampustalo and library are closed, you can return books to the book drop box by the C0 door, located at the right end of Kampustalo, opposite to the Tornitalo student apartments. The books will be removed from your loans on SEAMK-Finna as soon as the staff returns from vacation.
- During the period 27.7.–2.8. when the library is closed, but the C0 door to Kampustalo is open, you can check-in books to the self-checkin shelf during 7:30am–4:00pm. SEAMK students and staff can access the library with SEAMK access rights 9 am – 9 pm.
Requests
You cannot request books on SEAMK-Finna starting from Thursday 18.6. at 2pm. You may request books on SEAMK-Finna again on Monday 3.8.2025 as the library opens.

We will reply to the messages as the library opens on Monday 3.8. Interlibrary loans will not be handled 11.6.–2.8.2026.
EXAM visits from other universities
EXAM visits by the students from other universities can only be taken during the SEAMK Library’s customer opening hours. Please also note that the library’s customer service is not open in the mornings between 9 and 10. EXAM visits are not possible 19.6.– 2.8.
Please always check the hours on the SEAMK-Finna page(Opens in a new window) and arrive early, so that the SEAMK librarian has time to check the visitor’s ID and let the visitor in to the EXAM room before the customer service desk closes. Theses
New theses will not be processed on Theseus during the closure. They will be handled when the library opens again.
E-resources
E-books and e-journals are available for the SEAMK students and staff the whole summer. You can search for e-books, e-journals and e-articles on SEAMK-Finna(Opens in a new window) if you narrow your search by “Available online” limiter.
