A new application, Ebook Central Reader App, will be launched in ProQuest Ebook Central platform at SEAMK on 10 December, 2025. The Ebook Central Reader App will replace the Adobe Digital Editions reader, which was previously available in the service. If you have downloaded e-books to Adobe Digital Editions, they will be automatically synced to the new app.
The Ebook Central Reader App for mobile devices and computers, is designed for downloading ebooks and reading them offline. The new app does not replace the Ebook Central online reader, so you can still use it to search for e-books, read online, and download books.
You can download the Ebook Central Reader from your app store or via the link in the Ebook Central platform. To register the app on your device and download books to the app, you must log in to your Ebook Central account using the credentials you created earlier. If you do not have credentials yet, you can create them in Ebook Central.
Once you have selected the e-book you want to download, the system will notify you about the new application and ask you to register. After you have installed the app following the instructions, you will receive a 7-digit registration code. Open the app and enter the registration code to access your bookshelf. You can then download the book to the app and start reading it offline on your computer or your mobile device.
Please note! Students can download the app to their personal devices themselves. The app will be installed on SEAMK computers centrally as soon as possible, but it is not available yet for instance on SEAMK staff member’s laptops.
Users can still download individual chapters as PDF files. The Ebook Central Reader App is only required for downloading entire e-books and reading them offline. Books will be removed from the app once the loan period has expired.
