SEAMK-Finna search service now has a new look. You will notice the changes especially in the visual appearance of the service, but the search functions remain the same as before. The latest changes are described in more detail below.
The traditional blue color of the search service has been replaced with SEAMK’s brand color, lilac. Lilac is complemented by yellow, which serves as an additional color. Both colors comply with SEAMK’s graphic guidelines and were introduced on the library’s website and library guides at the end of last year.

In SEAMK-Finna, you can comment and rate (by stars) material. The comments and ratings you write will be visible in all Finna search services and online libraries where the material in question is available. All comments and ratings are publicly visible.
A new feature is that you can view the comments and ratings you have given in SEAMK-Finna in My account. You can delete any of your comments or ratings if you wish. By clicking on the name of the material, you will be taken to the detailed information for that material, where you can edit your previous comment or rating in the Comments tab.

If you do not want to comment under your own name, you can use an alias. You can set up or change your alias in the Profile tab. When commenting, please follow good manners and the law, and respect other users. You can read more about this in Finna’s commenting guidelines and principles(Opens in a new window).
You can save the reference information for the material you want to your reference management system. A new feature is the option to export references directly to Zotero. Previous export options include the RefWorks and EndNote reference management programs, as well as the RIS file format, which allows references to be transferred between different reference management programs.
References are exported as follows. From the search results list, you can access the detailed information about a material by clicking on its name. On this page, you can click the Export reference icon and select the desired export option from the drop-down menu.

SEAMK-Finna is part of the Finna search service maintained and developed by the National Library of Finland. The service is updated monthly, and updates can be both large and small – for example, related to improving accessibility or fixing bugs. Some aspects of SEAMK-Finna can be customized, such as the layout, but for larger changes and development suggestions, we can contact the National Library and submit our requests.
